Every idea, behaviour or belief that is presented to us on a daily basis is a gift.
No human being is ever going to be able to fully comprehend how the world works, or to find what people call the “one single truth”.
No human being can experience all there is to the world. No human being can grow up to all parents, join all organizations, feel attached to all cultures, learn all customs and traditions, and understand all values and beliefs in the world. We are bound by our own experiences.
That’s why, all the ideas and behaviours and beliefs which other people can offer to us are an insight into a whole new world which we will never be able to fully comprehend.
Always keep in mind that you are only a tiny piece in a much larger whole. There are over 7 billion people in the world, and each of them holds a tiny piece to seeing the full picture of what is right and what is wrong. All of these perspectives on the world hold a core of truth to them, but none of them will ever hold the absolute truth.
Make sure that you accept these gifts that are offered to you every single day. If you maintain the belief that you are right and everybody else is wrong, then you will never be able to grow beyond the cage that is the environment you grew up in.
Ironically, life can be much easier for those people who are not able to break free from their own mental framework. Since their belief in their own superiority is so strong, they dismiss all the other perspectives on the world which are out there. Since happens because our brain is constantly striving for congruence, and it tends to dismiss all the information which are in-congruent with our own values and beliefs.
No matter how open-minded we believe we are, there is always the danger of each and every single one of us to fall into this trap. Outsmarting this brain of ours isn’t easy. But believing that every single idea, behaviour and belief of another person which we encounter holds a tiny core of truth in it, and should therefore be embraced as a gift, is one step in the right direction.
